Quiz-taking strategies and exercise

Quiz-taking strategies
Here is a summary of the recommendations the two sections made for writing effective quiz answers:

1. Remember that the instructions ask you to use 2 - 3 sentences to do two things: identify something, and say why it is important.

2. Use complete sentences to help explain relations, structure, or causation.

3. Be specific, and include only important and relevant information.

4. Use lists or "bullet-points" only when you list data or information of relatively equal importance, and without significant relations between the data points.

Quiz-taking exercise
Working in groups, discuss the following student responses from the quizzes. Rank the answers (most effective to least effective). Generalizing from these specific examples, make two or three recommendations for ways to write an effective answer on this sort of quiz. When we reconvene, the group's spokesperson should present the group's ranking, reasoning behind the ranking, and recommendations.
